Known as the Grand Center Arts District, some call it Midtown or Midtown Alley, we call it "vibrant".  The neighborhood around the Drake Plaza Apartments puts you right in the middle of educational institutions, cultural resources, and some of the most unique restaurants in the city.  Close to SLU, Harris Stowe, UMSL's midtown campus, and a short drive from the SLU Medical School, the Drake Plaza gives you a chance to live where you learn.  You're a short walk from the Chaifetz Arena, and right across the street from SLU's main campus.  A short walk takes you to Vito's, and just down the street are all the restaurants and nightlife of Midtown Alley.

If cultural institutions are more your thing, the Grand Center Arts District doesn't skimp on that either.  The Fox Theatre, Powell Hall, Sheldon, and Grandel Theatre are all in the neighborhood.  If art is more your style, the Contemporary Art Musuem, Kranzberg Arts Center, and Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts are just a few of the many options available to you.

Once you've exhausted all that Grand Center has to offer, it's great location provides for a short drive to all the nightlife in the Central West End, the beauty of Forest Park, and the Zoo and Museums in it.  It also offers a quick drive to downtown for Cardinals, Blues, and CITY games, and all the excitement that Washignton Avenue, Laclede's Landing, and Soulard have to offer.
